Our mission passage this year is Hebrews 12:1-2
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God."
We want everything we do this year to be all about the Person of Jesus Christ. It is our prayer that all of us on the hall would know that we are loved—by the hall community and, most importantly, by God Himself. We pray that every one of us will see Jesus for Who He truly is, and never desire anything else.
Our foundational verse is Acts 2:42
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
Which produces three core values:
Scripture
We will remain grounded as a community on the truth of God's Word, the Bible. We will submit to the teaching of Scripture and encourage one another to do the same.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”
- 2 Timothy 3:16
Fellowship
We will prioritize fellowship with one another as brothers in Christ. We are a special community that God has brought together on this hall, so we will live in fellowship.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another.”
- Hebrews 10:24-25
Prayer
It is our honor and privilege to bring every prayer and praise to our Heavenly Father, as we have been given the ability to boldly approach His throne through Christ. For ourselves, for each other, for our community, and for the world, we will devote ourselves to prayer.
